The Mount Hermon Ski Resort management has invested 5.5 million Shekels throughout last summer preparation works that were achieved for the opening of the 2004 skiing season. Menachem Baruch, Mount Hermon Ski Resort CEO, stated that extensive renovation works, including replacement of the conveying and central funicular monitoring systems (cable car # 7) ; doubling chairs hourly occupancy from 400 to 800 skiers at the top cable car (# 8) and replacement of the monitoring systems engines and electronics. The culminating investment in Mount Hermon Ski Resort is the purchase of a new attraction : dry mountain sledges, at a cost of 3 million Shekels – 30 such sledges sliding on a one- kilometer- long- track at a speed of up to 40 km per hour ; these sledges shall be operated throughout the year and shall join the pungee attraction, which is bungee trampoline and a climbing wall that shall also be operated all year long. An additional skiing slope has been open that will contour the Club's wadis with a black track, in order to afford the average- skilled skier the option to ski in a separate area. The children's sledge sliding area has also been extended and renovated, the gliding track is longer, safer and is more enjoyable. 500,000 Shekels were invested in the construction works. Mr. Baruch goes on to say : “The Mount Hermon Ski Resort presently stands at a highly professional level and affords a large variety of activities and attractions, both to skiers and to families and children, who can enjoy various snow activities in winter and camp activities in summer. |
