We invite Jewish communal organisations with Israel tour Programmes, Christian Friends of Israel organisations with tour programmes and travel professionals with Israel specialist programmes to be exhinitors at the events.

We will run it largely as a trade show with desks/ booths for exhibitors. There will be
tourism films on Israel running during the Expo period.

The Israel Expos will be a great opprtunity to promote a full range of tour options to Israel. The evenings will be predominantly directed at the Jewish communities in Sydney and Melbourne but we will warmly welcome all and any people interested in travelling to Israel.

If you want to be involved as a presenter please let me know ASAP by
either ringing me on 02 9328 1722 or by email at david@aicc.org.au

Maximum presenter numbers are 15 in Sydney and 12 in Melbourne.

A peaceful Passover and Easter in Israel
Interestingly the Media in this part of the world pointedly ignored the fact that 11,000 Christian pilgrims paraded in Jerusalem's Old City on Good Friday in peace and that tens of thousands of Jewish visitors to Israel and millions of Israelis enjoyed a peaceful Passover, filling hotels, parks and places of relaxation.

In fact it is extraordinary that events in Jerusalem (the setting for Easter) were deemed rrelevent
by the Australian and the New Zealand news media.
Tourism figures up
Last month El Al's Australian office stated that they enjoyed the highest level of bookings in March for at leaset five years. Overall demand for Israel is up in Australia and globally, during the first quarter of 2004, inbound tourism to Israel is over 40% up on 2003 levels.
SBS Travel Documentary to be made in Israel

I am pleased to report the SBS's Travel Program " Fork in the Road" will be making a tourism documentary on Kibbutz and Desert tourism in Israel. The crew arrives in Israel on April 23.

My colleages in Jerusalem and I have organised what we hope will be a good "off the beaten track" program in Israel.

The program is presented by Pria Viswalingam.
The program will be screened in Australia, UK, France, Israel and much of Europe.

Regards
David Beirman
Director Israel Tourism Office
