SCHUGS

Yemenite hot sauce

Schug (also spelled zhug, zhoug, or skhug) is a fiery, herb-packed hot sauce brought to Israel by Yemenite Jews. It typically features fresh chili peppers (jalapeños or bird's eye chilies), coriander, garlic, olive oil, and warm spices like cumin and cardamom. It is a popular condiment for falafel, shawarma, and hummus.
