Seeking paintings of Nahum Gutman
|
Nahum Gutman, a very well known Israeli painter, writer & illustrator, was sent to South-Africa in 1934 by Mayor Dizengoff in order to paint the portrait of General Smuts. He took with him a great number of paintings sold in 3 exhibitions. We have found only 2 out of a list of 45. We are seeking to obtain the rest of the paintings for our museum. We know that many South African Jews live in Australia and are looking for a way to spread the information to anyone who may have a Nahum Gutman painting in their possession. We appreciate your help. The museum is located in Neve-Tsedek. Our web site is www.gutmanmuseum.co.il |
